PRIVACY POLICY

Information I collect
What you give me. If you use my contact form, email me, or call, I receive what you choose to share. That is usually your name, email address, phone number, and a short message. Please keep messages brief and leave out private details about your relationship or your health. Email and forms are not a secure channel, and I would rather hear those details in session.
What your browser shares automatically. When you visit, your browser and device send technical information to the Website, such as your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you view, how long you stay, and the site that sent you here. Cookies and similar tools collect this. I call it device information.
How I use it
I use what you send me to reply to your inquiry and to schedule a consultation or first session. I use device information to keep the Website running and protected from misuse. I also use it to see which pages help visitors so I can improve them.
I do not sell or rent your information, and I do not use the messages you send me to advertise to you.
Who else handles it
The Website runs on Squarespace, which hosts the site and receives contact form submissions. It also provides basic traffic statistics. Squarespace handles your information only to provide its service to me, and it has its own privacy policy.
I may share information when the law requires it, such as in response to a valid court order or subpoena, or when needed to guard against fraud or misuse of the Website.
Cookies
Cookies are small files stored on your device. The Website uses them to work properly and to measure traffic. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though some parts of the Website may not work as well afterward. Because there is no common standard for it, the Website does not respond to Do Not Track signals.
Keeping your information safe, and for how long
I use reasonable safeguards to protect your information, including secure hosting through Squarespace and limiting access to the people who need it to run my practice. No method of sending or storing information online is completely secure, so I cannot guarantee absolute protection. If a security incident affects your information, I will notify you as Massachusetts law requires.
I keep inquiry messages for [12 months] and then delete them. If you become a client, your information moves into your client record, which is kept and protected under my informed consent paperwork and the record-keeping laws that apply to therapists.
Your choices
You can ask me what website information I hold about you, and you can ask me to correct or delete it. Email therapy@nataliegaida.com and I will respond within a reasonable time. I may need to keep some information if the law requires it, and client records follow their own retention rules.
You can also limit tracking through your browser settings by declining or deleting cookies.
Children and outside links
The Website is written for adults, and I do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has sent me information, email me and I will delete it.
The Website may link to other sites. This policy does not cover them, and I am not responsible for how they handle your information.
Changes and contact
I may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date below shows the latest version, and continuing to use the Website means you accept the update.
Questions or requests can go to therapy@nataliegaida.com.
